CHILD'S SKILL DEVELOPMENT

OUR MISSION

Preparing children to successfully meet the challenges and opportunities they will encounter as teenagers and as adults means providing them with a solid foundation of social, educational, and emotional skills early in life. The development of your child's potentials in a happy, relaxed, safe and loving environment is the basis  of  Memorial Day Nursery existence.

At Memorial day Nursery we provide the highest quality staff who ensure cognitively stimulating yet emotional safe and comforting early childhood classes. Our children occupy different classrooms depending on age. Each room has a planned program of activities. In our Abbott pre-school classes, the children learn various concepts in literacy, math, science, art. They develop fine and gross motor skills as they explore and experiment with the various educational materials available to them. Most importantly, they learn socialization skills which will serve them throughout their lives. As well, the children talk about their feelings and develop ways to express their feelings appropriately and effectively.

Our toddlers' curriculum focuses more on emotional and socialization skills. Two year olds are still developing their sense of autonomy. Our trained toddler staff work with the children and help facilitate trust, autonomy, and high self-esteem. Language skills are developed as well as fundamental math skills. The children are encouraged to represent their world through various art materials.

In all classrooms, no matter the age, the children's psycho-social-cognitive needs are paramount.
